Mr Sharpe raised some pertinent points in his letter (DFP, July 31) regarding a parking ban proposed between 10am and 3pm on streets near DRI.
Like many rules and regulations has it been thought through sufficiently?

Take this proposed ban and some of its affects. Nurses visiting patients, drivers delivering parcels, groceries or whatever, window cleaners, handymen and gardeners who do work for local residents, occasional visitors.

I know one old lady whose daughter brings her a hot meal around midday, does she have to delay eating until after 3pm.

One stretch of Dunleary Road id dual carriageway on both sides. parking there is no problem provided the residents' drives are not blocked. In all the years I have lived here I have never had a hospital worker's vehicle obstructing my access.

The truth of the matter is like a reader pointed out a few weeks ago in your column the hospital buildings have outgrown the site.
