THE hostile response from Don Valley MP and Government housing minister Caroline Flint to the parish poll at Rossington opposing greenfield housing developments was in keeping with the ministerial remit for which she is responsible.
Her attack on the parish council for how it conducted the poll was without any justification and was a ploy to divert attention from a result which was not to her liking.

If the result had gone the way she had wished she would have found the result acceptable in any circumstances, but to imply that a result of 19 to 1 against greenfield development should be dismissed as irrelevant is consistent with those in government who pretend to listen to public opinion but, in reality, only listen when what they are hearing is in agreement with them.

Terry Wilde
Chairman, Rossington Parish Council
Grangefield Avenue
Rossington
