AFTER reading your article on 'Down tools' I at first thought that all the workmen had gone on strike but no it wasn't that just a little matter of finding asbestos in council properties.
Therefore one would feel that this was the right course of action at the time, what we have since been told (absolutely nothing) needs to be re-dressed.
My wife and I by the way are in the middle of the Decent Home Scheme and are living out of bo
xes as well, however if anybody can tell me how to take out a complete kitchen and replace it with a new one without making a mess I would be pleased to hear from them.
Most people on our estate Westbourne Gardens Balby, are quite pleased how the scheme is going and we were informed at the first induction just how much mess and for how long there would be. We would all like to be finished in shorter time than at present but please do not blame the work force they have been as quick as possible in everything they have done.
Our particular workforce which is Wates have been totally forthcoming in everything they have done and I speak on behalf of the majority of tenants on Westbourne Gardens. Of course there is bound to be some problems with the amount of work that is being carried out but please lets all be patient Rome wasn't built in a day.
