WITH reference to the article in Doncaster Free Press, July 24, regarding piles of rubbish.
As Portfolio Holder for Neighbourhoods, I would like to say that I, and my colleagues who work for Neighbourhood Services, are disappointed with how this has been reported.

Doncaster MBC is not causing the problems the lady is having getting out of her home.

When bins have been emptied it is the responsibility of tenants to return them to their rightful place. If any other rubbish i.e, furniture, white goods etc, we provide a collection service on request.

What we do know is that minutes after being cleared, unscrupulous individuals are dumping rubbish again. We would like people living in these streets to contact Neighbourhood Services on 736050 and report such instances and who it is that is dumping the rubbish. I can assure you that action will be taken against these people.

Stuart Exelby
Deputy Mayor
