Thursday

RACING: Those looking for a little glitz and glamour on a Thursday night can head to the races for a bit of musical entertainment.
Pop group Acoustic Angels will be performing in between races at Doncaster Racecourse tonight and tickets can be bought from the website at www.doncaster-racecourse.co.uk or by calling (01302) 304200.

Friday
GIG: Me vs Hero, My A
ctions, Your Exit and Midterm Break are all playing at The Priory tonight. Tickets are £4 on the door - but the gig is suitable for over 14s only.

Saturday
CONCERT: Superstar and musical legend Elton John will be performing at the Keepmoat Stadium tonight. The singer will be playing with Richard Fleeshman at the stadium with tickets still available from the box office on www.ticketmaster.co.uk or 0844 847 1731.

Sunday
EVENT: The re-enactment series at Cusworth Hall continues this weekend with members of the American Civil War Society performing. The free weekend starts on Saturday with the event taking place from 11am- 4pm. For more information call 01302 782342.

Monday
THEATRE: A new production is starting at the Little Theatre tonight. Absent Friends is a black comedy by Alan Ayckbourn with tickets priced at £8 for adults and £6 for concessions. It runs until Friday.

Wednesday
EVENT: A weekly keep fit class is taking place in Woodlands today. The class is designed for the over 60s and takes place every week at the Woodlands Library from 11am to noon. Prices are £1 per session, for more information call (01302) 724393.

CONCERT: Opera star Russell Watson will be appearing in Nottingham tonight. The singer who has recently made a successful comeback after surgery will be playing at the Royal Concert Hall and Theatre Royal at Royal Centre with tickets priced from £25 and can be bought from the box office at www.ticketmaster.co.uk.

Friday
COMEDY: Charles Ross will be performing his unique comedy show in Salford tonight. The comedian will be attempting to tell the story of the Star Wars trilogy alone within an hour. Saturday
THEATRE: The youth theatre production of Carmina Burana will end in Leeds tonight. The production will be taking place for the last time along with The Nightingale and The Rose at The Carriageworks Theatre. Tickets are priced from £9 and are available from the box office on 0113 224 3801.

Sunday
CONCERT: The music in the round series continues in Sheffield tonight with a special performance. Local musician Kate Rusby and Red Skies will play at the Lyceum with tickets available from www.sheffieldtheatres.co.uk.

THEATRE: The Wedding Singer begins its run in Nottingham tonight. The production starring Jonathan Wilkes and Natalie Casey will be performing at the Royal Concert Hall and Theatre Royal at the Royal Centre until Saturday with tickets available from the box office on 0115 989 5555.

Tuesday
THEATRE: A new theatre production of George's Marvellous Medicine will begin in Manchester tonight. The adaptation of the Roald Dahl book will continue to perform at the Palace Theatre until Saturday. Tickets are priced from £8 and can be bought from the box office on 0870 401 3000.

Wednesday
GIG: Comedy music duo We Are Scientists will be performing in Sheffield tonight. The group who released their second album this year will be playing at the Leadmill with tickets available from www.ticketmaster.co.uk at £14 each.
