Thursday

MEETINGS: Doncaster Astro-nomical Society will hold its monthly meeting from 7.30pm at St George's Church House. The programme will include an introduction to astronomy for beginners and the latest developments in the night sky. All are welcome. More details on (01302) 784350.
Friday
ART: Doncaster Art Club's annual exhibition of work continues at the Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery, Chequer Road until September 14. More details and opening times are available from the museum on (01302) 734293 or ar www.

Saturday
EVENTS: Discover the archaeology of the Brodsworth Estate when Colin Merrony of Sheffield University will be revealing details of the Brodsworth Community Archaeology Project at the historic hall. The event takes place from 2pm and places must be booked in advance on (01302) 722598.
WALK: A Magical Mystery Moor is the title of a walk organised by Doncaster Ramblers which will take in the heather strewn moors around Curbar, Burbage and Stanage. The 12 mile moderate/strenuous walk will set off from Grindleford station at 10am. Contact Catherine Palmer on (01302) 783613 to book a place.

Sunday
CONCERT: The Markham Main Band will provide the entertainment at the regular Sunday afternoon band concert at Brodsworth Hall. The show starts at 3pm and standard garden admission prices apply. Call (01302) 722598 for further details.

WALK: A guided walk of the Don Gorge discussing the natural history of the area will take place between 10am and noon, setting off from near the Boat Inn, Sprotbrough. The cost of the event is £2.50 for adults and 50p for children. Places must be booked in advance on (01302) 852864.

DAYS OUT: Doncaster Country Fair comes to Cusworth Hall and will feature everything from exotic food, sheep shows, crafts and cookery demonstrations from local chef Michael Price. There will also be entertainment from The Swale Valley Stompers and Gus Dermody of One Man and His Dog will also be performing a series of displays during the course of the day. The event takes place from 11am to 5pm and entrance is free.

EVENTS: Doncaster's Gay Pride event takes place from 2pm with a walk from the Mansion House to the Market Place which will be the venue for a host of entertainment including former Big Brother winner and TV host Brian Dowling, Katrina from Katrina And The Waves and a host of other acts and entertainers. The event is free and open to all.

Monday
ART: Doncaster College's annual exhibition of work continues at Doncaster Museum and Art Gallery, Chequer Road and features all the best work from students based at Doncaster College's School of Creative Arts. The exhibition continues until September 14.

Tuesday
WALK: Members of Doncaster Ramblers will be strolling the Tilling Fields of Kneesall, Egmanton and Laxton. Meet at Laxton Visitor Centre (top car park) at 10am. The 11-mile walk is moderate and more details are available from Robert Elvidge on 07967 772201.

Wednesday
WALK: Enjoy the scenery of Arksey Common and the Don Bank with an evening stroll organised by Doncaster Ramblers which sets off from Barnby Dun church at 6.30pm. More details about the five mile stroll from Jim Elvidge on (01302) 884800.
