THIS week is definitely the week for discovering new bands. Now as the dark nights close in, there are hundreds of new scamps waiting with eager eyes to take on the world by storm.
The festival season has given many taste makers the chance to raise their ears towards the direction of the latest big hit and most of them can be found in Sheffield over the coming weeks.

In Doncaster though, Vintage Rock Bar is giving it a great
go. After all, visiting in November are Riding The Low. And although chances are you're not going to recognise the band name, the lead singer will definitely be familiar. Paddy Considine, star of Hot Fuzz and Dead Man's Shoes, will be playing with the group when they visit the bar on November 22. In other words - don't miss it. This week however, you can find another hotly tipped group - Operahouse. Playing at the bar on Friday, the group are tipped for big things. Then at the Leopard the Bob Hughes Band, Jery At Controls and Guy Honeymoon will be playing on Tuesday.

Over in Sheffield, The Plug is celebrating its third birthday on Saturday with Reverend and The Makers, Paddy Orange, Andy Nicholson and many more while on Monday Lykki Li will be playing at the venue. If you like big sweeping ballads then One Republic are playing at Sheffield Academy also on Monday while the Leadmill welcomes White Lies tomorrow night.
