Drug arrests after suspected burglary

TWO men - including the householder - were arrested after a suspected burglary led to thousands of pounds in cash and a quantity of drugs being found.
Police were called out to the house in Sprotbrough when a man was seen trying to climb through a window. No-one was found at the scene but police found a van reported to have been at the housee in a nearby supermarket car park.

Police searched the van and its three occupants in Sainsbury's car park on Sprotbrough Road during which one man ran away and was found later hiding in garden off Sprotbrough Road having thrown away drugs - believed to be cannabis - as he fled.

His house on Tennyson Avenue was searched and £2,000 cash and £2,000 of cannabis was found.

He was arrested - along with the house owner on his return - on suspicion of possesion with intent to supply. Both men, who are in their 20s, were bailed.

The two other men in the van were not arrested.

The suspected "burglary" was reported at 3.30pm on Tuesday, July 1.
