OFFICIALS from Doncaster's Robin Hood Airport are to fly out to Kuala Lumpur to take part in a 'speed dating' event for the aviation industry.
Delegates from Finningley and representatives of Creative Sheffield and Yorkshire South - bodies set up to promote the region - will fly to Malaysia on Sunday to attend the 14th World Route Development Forum.

The event is a meeting place for hun
dreds of airports and airlines from across the globe.

The annual event is one of 40 scheduled meetings with airlines from across Europe, Asia, USA and the Middle East set up to explore the potential for new flight connections to Robin Hood.

Robin Tudor, spokesman for airport owners Peel said: "This event can
best be described as speed dating for airports and airlines.

"If the airlines like what we have to say in our 20 minute sales pitch, then a relationship can be established that can lead to more business in the future.

"It is a great opportunity to be able to speak face to face with airlines from all over the world in an extremely cost effective way and get the message to them about all the great things happening in the region and how the airport can help them deliver access for their passengers to and from here."
