BESSACARR FC's secretary Nathan Batchelor has been chosen to receive a prestigious national honour in recognition of his services to football.
The 29-year-old, who also edits Doncaster Rovers fanzine Popular Stand and is a qualified referee, is one of just ten winners in the UK to receive a National Football Workforce Award for 2007/08 - awarded by the Football Association.
Nathan, who has been involved at Bessacarr FC as a player, referee and club official for the last 12 years, will be presented with his award at next month's FA Community Shield at Wembley where he will be a VIP guest. He is also a qualified FA welfare officer and is editor of Tackle, a new Doncaster sport magazine.
He said: "I don't do my football for awards, I do it for a love of the game, but I feel this is a great honour for Bessacarr FC and every single person past and present who has been involved with the club."
