TRANSFER deadline passed quietly for Doncaster Rovers last night - despite rumours linking veteran Hull striker Dean Windass with a shock move to the club.
The 39-year-old has failed to break into Hull's starting XI for any of their three Premiership games so far and there had been speculation that the club was keeping an eye on him.

But the transfer window slammed shut at midnight without Rovers boss Sean O'Driscoll making any changes - in or out - to his squad.

O'Driscoll said after Saturday's win against Coventry that he did not expect any activity yesterday and added he would assess his options again around Christmas.

The passing of the deadline means Rovers cannot add any player to their squad on a permanent basis until the window re-opens in January - although O'Driscoll can snap up players on loan from next week if necessary.

* Midfielder Brian Stock has linked up with the Wales international squad as they prepare to begin their World Cup qualifying campaign this weekend.

Stock is hoping to earn his first full cap when John Toshack's men entertain Azerbaijan at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium on Saturday before travelling to face Russia in Moscow next Wednesday.
