KEVIN Keegan will field a strong Newcastle team at the Keepmoat, writes Paul Goodwin.
But England marksman Michael Owen is unlikely to be risked against Rovers.

Likely to start are £10 million man Obafemi Martins, former Manchester United favourite Nicky Butt and in-form Irish winger Damien Duff.

Also in the squad are England pr
ospects Steven Taylor and James Milner, Brazilian defender Cacapa, Spanish full back Jose Enrique and highly rated wide man Charles N'Zogbia.

Steve Harper could get the nod in goal and there may also be a starting place for former Leeds favourite Alan Smith.

Owen was left out as a precaution when the Geordies kicked off their pre-season campaign with a 4-1 win at Hartlepool on Saturday - courtesy of a Duff hat trick and a debut goal from Danny Guthrie.

The 28-year-old striker, who has scored 40 goals for his country, is still suffering from a tight calf muscle and is doubtful -although he has not been completely ruled out.

Argentine winger Jonas Guitierrez - nicknamed Spiderman - could also travel with the squad from Tyneside but his debut has so far been delayed by a hold up with his registration.

The game is set to attract a good crowd with Rovers having sold over 6,000 tickets and Newcastle likely to bring up to 3,000 fans.
